Allocated with 7.000 Euros, the 2nd place of the Idea Promotion Prize was awarded this year to the founder of the Frankfurt Biotech start-up company bio.logis GmbH, Ms. Prof. Dr. med. Daniela Steinberger. An innovative business idea, 21 new jobs created, and the prospect of economic success for the company convinced the expert jury.
Albert Darboven, owner and Managing Director of Hamburg's traditional company JJ Darboven GmbH & Co. KG presented the award for one of the best founding concepts from a woman in Germany at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg ceremonial in early November.
“The award reassures us of our innovative approach and business model, which is to prepare and make relevant genetic information accessible to the public”, states Ms. Daniela Steinberger, founder of the FIZ Frankfurt Biotechnology Innovation Center based, bio.logis GmbH. “This would not have been possible without a competent and well-coordinated team, who, with great commitment, consistently shaped the basic idea”.
In July 2009, Daniela Steinberger presented her business idea to the prestigious Darboven Idea Promotion Prize. As part of a multi-stage selection procedure, the new entrepreneur went up against 188 submitted concepts. A panel of legal, tax and economic experts, and representatives from politics and public institutions examined both the business plan as well as the current economic indicators of the company.

About the Darboven Idea Promotion Prize
The Darboven Idea Promotion Prize has been awarded exclusively to women since 1997. It awards young women entrepreneurs, who have worked as freelancers for no longer than three years, for innovative and commercially successful business models. The criteria include the degree of novelty of the business idea, personal commitment and the number of newly created or anticipated jobs.
“The creativity and motivation of women is an important engine for the economy, which Germany can not do without”, states Albert Darboven, owner and Managing Director of Hamburg's traditional company JJ Darboven. This is why the coffee roaster and donor created the Idea Darboven Prize.
